Interesting in Starting a Chapter?

The pleasures of shooting double guns, consuming special cuisine and admiring finely executed gun work are greatly enhanced when shared.  Distance between members imposes a handicap to this shared enjoyment.  Therefore, we encourage the formation of local chartered affiliates called Chapters.  Members are allowed and encouraged to form a Vintage Gunner Chapter for the mutual benefit of all.  It is planned that these chapters will be located so that our members can have a local group and so that our members who travel will have new people and guns to meet.

The responsibilities of the Vintage Gunners and of the Chapters are specified below.

CHAPTERS:

I.  Shall consist of not less than 8 members in good standing.  A member in good standing is one who is current with his dues.

II. Shall have at least two officers; a President and one other, who shall be responsible to:

 a. maintain chapter roll

 b. maintain chapter communications

 c. plan and coordinate chapter shoots

 d. manage chapter finances

 e. provide event schedule and items of timely interest for the Vintager Newsletter

III. Shall promote not less than 3 shoot/dinner events per year.

IV. Chapters shall schedule events at locations which carry appropriate and adequate insurance.

V.  Shall make reasonable effort to enforce proper attire.  Proper attire shall consist of no less than the attire worn by a gentleman or gentlewoman in the pursuit of sport in a time and place from 1880-1914, the Vintage years.  (In a country as vast as the US, there exist many different climatic zones and thus the necessity for a variety of fine garb.)

VI. Shall conform to all applicable local, state and Federal regulations and shall conduct these activities for the general benefit of all Vintage Gunners.

THE VINTAGE GUNNERS:

I. Shall return to the local chapter $20 per paid member.  This money to be used for expenses incurred by the chapter.

II. Shall list chapter events in the Newsletter and on the Website: www.vintagers.org.

III. Shall provide assistance in the promotion of chapters and all national and international Vintager events.

IV. Shall provide liability insurance for officers of chapters and all members at Vintage Gunner events.
